The delegation from the Republic of Zambia, headed by the Minister of Finance Mr. Bwalya Ng’andu, visited the Minsk Tractor Works.
Issues relating to the organization of the assembly of Belarusian tractors in Zambia have been discussed for several years. This is why the delegation from this country was expected back in 2019.
The meeting of the guests passed at high level. After getting acquainted with the manufacturing plant, its history, modern technologies of production and the range of produced equipment, there were held the negotiations with the Director General of OJSC “MTW” Mr. Vitaliy Vovk.
“We are ready to share with you of all the necessary for the organization of high-tech production of agricultural machinery. It is not merely the tractor assembly processes, but also the training of specialists of the required qualification. It is possible as well on the basis of your educational institutions”, - noted Vitaliy Vovk.
“Right now we will be initiating the preparation of the roadmap, create a working group for implementation of our plans”, - added the Director General.
Mr. Ng’andu in his turn emphasized the great interest of Zambia in utilizing of the experience of the Republic of Belarus for the development of agriculture in general.
“The creation of a joint production of Belarusian equipment will allow our region to provide tractors not only with Zambia’s sector, but also to supply the equipment to the markets of neighboring countries due to its favorable geographical location”, - said the Minister of Finance.
The organization of assembling plant in the territory of the Republic of Zambia will make the tractors more affordable for farmers.
During the meeting were also announced the intentions for the acquisition of tractors. The amount should be determined by the end of the first quarter of this year, as well as in this period of time it is planned to begin the implementation of the identified plans.
